John HoffmanJohn Hoffman is Executive Vice President, Documentaries for Discovery. He directed and executive produced Sleepless in America (NatGeo,) First in Human (Discovery,) Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman (Discovery,) the Emmy® nominated The Weight of the Nation (HBO,) and produced the Emmy® winning series Addiction and The Alzheimer’s Project for HBO. Hoffman oversaw the global premiere of Emmy® nominated film RACING EXTINCTION. Under his direction, Discovery launched Discovery Impact, a slate of groundbreaking environmental documentaries. Recent titles SONIC SEA, KILLING THE COLORADO, and HUNTWATCH. 

 

 

 

 

Susan FroemkeSusan Froemke is a four-time Emmy® winner and non-fiction filmmaker with over thirty films to her credit, including Academy® Award nominated HBO documentary film Lalee’s Kin (2001), Grey Gardens (1976) and Wagner’s Dream (2012,) which had a US theatrical run before airing on PBS. Froemke recently co-directed Escape Fire: The Fight To Rescue American Healthcare (2013) with Matthew Heineman. Froemke was formerly principal filmmaker at legendary Maysles Films more than two decades. 

 

 

 

Beth AalaBeth Aala is a three-time Emmy award-winning producer for her documentary work at HBO. She has also won the prestigious George Peabody award for HBO's The Music in Me. In 2015, she was nominated for the News and Documentary Emmy Awards for her film, Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon, which she directed and produced with comedian, Mike Myers. It won the Hollywood Film Award in 2014 for best documentary.
