Synopsis

In the Same Breath, recounts the origin and spread of the coronavirus from the earliest days in Wuhan to its rampage across the United States. In a deeply personal approach, Wang explores the parallel campaigns of misinformation waged by leadership and the devastating impact on citizens of both countries. Emotional first-hand accounts and startling, on-the-ground footage weave a revelatory picture of cover-ups while also highlighting the resilience of the healthcare workers and activists who risked everything to communicate the truth.

This digital screening includes a moderated filmmaker conversation that will be on demand with the film. The Q&A features director and producer Nanfu Wang and producers Jialing Zhang, Julie Goldman, Christopher Clements and Carolyn Hepburn, moderated by Anne Thompson, Editor at Large at IndieWire.

Closed Captioning is available for both the film and filmmaker conversation. ASL is available for the Q&A only.
