About the Event

This documentary special takes a new approach to the global lockdown and the uplifting stories that have come out of it. Viewers will witness how the smallest changes in human behavior—closing beaches a few days a year, identifying more harmonious ways for humans and wildlife to coexist—can have a profound impact on nature. The documentary is a love letter to planet Earth, highlighting how nature’s resiliency and ability to bounce back can give us hope for the future.

Speaker Bios

Tom Beard, Director

Tom is a BAFTA winning documentary film director based in Bristol, UK.  His films over recent years focus on conservation and the environment - from the global illegal wildlife trade to single use plastics.  Earlier in his career, his films about traditional communities and exploration have immersed him in some of the most extreme and varied places on Earth - from the heart of the Congo Forest and the shanties of Kolkata, to the middle of the Greenland ice sheet.    Tom’s passion as a filmmaker is to explore how we can interact best with the world around us.
