A crowd of people follows the coffin of a fallen soldier being buried at the Field of Mars military cemetery in Lviv.

About the Project

Set in Lviv, Ukraine, the film follows a group of men who organize daily funerals for fallen soldiers at the country’s only active military cemetery. As space runs out, they face increasing pressure—logistical, emotional, and spiritual—to uphold rituals of dignity and care. The protagonists navigate grief, bureaucracy, and burnout in the third year of a full-scale war. Meanwhile, loved ones transform each grave into a personal shrine with flowers, toys, letters, and photos. The film explores how ordinary citizens, through daily acts of mourning, unknowingly shape a new culture of memory in a country still learning how to remember.
