About the Project

Wheelchair users dream just like everyone else. Although scientists have studied dreams for decades, no one knows why almost all wheelchair users regularly dream that they can walk, run, dance, and engage in other physical activities with zero disability, even if they've never walked a day in their lives. Walking Dreams brings together intimate personal testimony, leading voices in neuroscience and psychology, and perspectives from Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Native American tradition, and other spiritual practices to explore this unique phenomenon.
