About the Project
Autism Goes to College is an award-winning documentary podcast series now in its fifth season, focused on the lived experiences of autistic students navigating higher education and the transition into adulthood. Hosted by autistic PhD student and educator Katherine O’Brien, the series blends first-person storytelling, expert insight, and long-form character-driven reporting to examine how education systems, workplaces, and families can better support neurodivergent adults.
Building on the success of the feature documentary film Autism Goes to College (Webby Anthem Award, DEI category, 2022), the podcast now has a loyal listenership, and in 2025 expanded to include a video component distributed on YouTube.
