About the Project

Over three summers in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, a master naturalist, a university entomologist, and a passionate teenager reveal the magic and mystery of fireflies. What if nostalgia for lightning bugs encourages a community to save the smallest of species before they’re at risk of disappearing forever.
