Straight/Curve examines the current trends around female body image and showcases the pioneering women, and men, fighting to redefine society’s unrealistic and dangerous standards of beauty. 90% of women and young girls say they do NOT feel represented in today’s fashion industry or media. Straight/Curve examines the industries and obstacles responsible for this negative body image and follows the people fighting to change it.

At a time when our brain processes images 60,000 times faster than words, the key way to change society's unrealistic standards of beauty is to change the imagery we are seeing. Our documentary sets out to create new visuals in a groundbreaking diversity photo shoot that forms the narrative spine of the film.

Straight/Curve poses the critical question: what is standing in the way of more diversity and inclusivity of size, age and race in the fashion industry and media. The film will entertain, inform and bolster a growing movement that demands a healthier and more realistic body image for women and girls – and by extension everyone!
