Join Mobolaji and the Ferguson Rises team on our Oscar journey! We need your help to raise the final campaign funds needed to reach the coveted Academy Awards shortlist. Ultimately, we hope to bring home the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature in 2022!

Dear friends and family,

We are excited to announce our 2022 Oscar campaign!

Since its premiere and audience award win at Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, Ferguson Rises has continued to thrive - going on to screen at numerous film festivals around the world, being featured in the IDA Screening Series (November 16th), and being picked up for distribution by PBS Independent Lens (premiering November 8th)!

We now shift our focus to the Oscars. We are on the longlist, but what comes next? It is essential that we get Ferguson Rises seen by Academy voters, who will then vote their favorite film onto a shortlist, then onto a nomination list, to then decide who wins the award. Our goal is to raise $64,000 by November 16th - we hope you will be able to support us and share with your friends, family and community!

With Ferguson Rises being a low-budget, independently funded, social justice documentary, it’s essential that we put as much time, energy and resources behind this film as possible. Whether you’re a supporter of independent filmmaking, documentaries, filmmakers of color, racial justice, or have felt moved by the message of turning pain into purpose - this is an opportunity for you to be a part of taking action to make sure the film leaves a positive, lasting impact on social justice in this country. The money we raise will help us to pay for: access to Oscar voting lists, outreach, film screenings and other promotional strategies.

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you'll be able to join us for this next exciting part of the film’s journey.

With gratitude,

Mobolaji and the Ferguson Rises Team
