Screen Time is your curated weekly guide to excellent documentaries and nonfiction programs that you can watch at home.

Premiering tonight, December 18 on Independent Lens is Jessie Auritt's Supergirl, about an Orthodox Jewish girl from New Jersey who broke a world powerlifting record at the age of ten. This intimate portrait follows her unique coming-of-age story as she fights to hold on to her title while navigating the perils of adolescence — from strict religious obligations to cyberbullying to health issues that could jeopardize her future in powerlifting.

Premiering tomorrow, December 19 on HBO is 15: A Quinceañera Story, a collection of four short documentary films following five Latina girls all observing the traditional rite of passage of the quinceañera, a celebration of their 15th birthdays.

Currently streaming at Netflix is Christopher Cannucciari's Banking on Bitcoin, covering the popular cryptocurrency's roots, its future, and the technology that makes it tick.

Currently streaming at Amazon Prime is Jim Jarmusch's Gimme Danger, chronicling the story of Iggy Pop and The Stooges, one of the greatest rock n' roll acts of all time.

Starting December 31, POV is launching a 30th Anniversary marathon that will run for 30 days. Premiering December 31 on WORLD Channel, the marathon will showcase films from POV's rich and diverse history of character-driven stories over a 24-hour period. Kicking off the same day, the marathon will also run 30 films for 30 days on the POV streaming service at pov.org, pbs.org, and the PBS Anywhere app.
