Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind

A funny, intimate and heartbreaking portrait of one of the world’s most inventive comedians, Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind takes us through his extraordinary life and career and reveals what drove him to give voice to the characters in his mind. Told largely by Robin himself, with never-before-seen footage and interviews with those who loved and knew him, the film features Billy Crystal, Eric Idle, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman, Steve Martin, Pam Dawber, Zak Williams and many others.

Marina Zenovich is an Emmy award-winning filmmaker whose films have been praised for their powerful storytelling and their thoughtful, sensitive approach to difficult subjects and controversial people.

In the past two years, Marina has made two films that have premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.  Her feature length investigation into the politics of water, Water & Power: A California Heist played in Documentary Competition at Sundance 2017 and then premiered on National Geographic.  Her most recent feature documentary Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind debuted in the Documentary Premieres section at Sundance 2018. It can be seen on HBO. Marina's breakthrough film, Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival to great acclaim and considerable media attention.  It also won the award for Best Editing.  It then screened at the Cannes Film Festival as a Special Screening.  Soon afterwards, Roman Polanski’s lawyers used the film as evidence to reopen the 30 year old case. Wanted and Desired was selected by the National Board of Review as one of the Best Documentaries of 2008.  The film also won Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming and Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming (shared with Joe Bini & P.G. Morgan.) Marina's follow-up film Roman Polanski: Odd Man Out, premiered at the 2012 Toronto and New York Film Festival. 

In 2013, Marina turned her attention to Richard Pryor: another electrifying and provocative figure.  Richard Pryor: Omit The Logic, premiered at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival and then debuted on Showtime.   The film was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Best Editing. Marina's next film, Fantastic Lies -- about the Duke Lacrosse scandal -- screened at SXSW in 2016 and then premiered on ESPN's 30 for 30 documentary series.  Fantastic Lies is considered one of the top ten episodes of 30 for 30. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Directors Guild and the International Documentary Association.
