About the Project

A young man in the Haitian city of Saint-Marc considers his options for the future: should he stay in the community where he grew up, or should he join the exodus abroad in search of other opportunities?

Ale Vini seeks to recreate the feeling of a particular place at a particular moment in time, juxtaposing audio from interviews against images from the Haitian city of Saint-Marc to create a portrait of a young man's thoughts, dreams, and desires at a crucial moment in his life.
