About the Project

The true-crime documentary, The Feast of the Assumption: The Otero Family Murders, chronicles, in real-time, the beginning of the end of the 30-year old BTK Strangler mystery as it is told through the eyes of Charlie Otero, the oldest surviving son of the serial killer’s first victims. It is one man’s personal journey through the most unique serial killer case in US history, mixing a victim’s search for truth and redemption with current, unraveling events surrounding the murders of his family members. The film examines tragedy and loss amid a serial killer’s day in the sun and unfolds as a tribute to the victims themselves and simultaneously tackles the issue of nature versus nurture, as Charlie’s life is a testament to cause and effect.
