Ben Bradlee, in 'The Newspaperman.' HBO.

Screen Time is your curated weekly guide to excellent documentaries and nonfiction programs that you can watch at home.

Premiering tonight, Monday, December 4 on HBO is The Newspaperman: The Life and Times of Ben Bradlee. As one of America's most influential and celebrated newspaper editors, The Washington Post's Ben Bradlee found himself at the center of many of the 20th Century's most seismic storms, including: World War II, John F. Kennedy and, most memorably, Watergate and the fall of Richard Nixon.

Currently streaming on Netflix is Petra Epperlein and Michael Tucker's Karl Marx City, in which Epperlein returns to her formerly East German hometown to investigate her father's suicide and whether he collaborated with the secret police.

Currently streaming on MUBI is Zhang Yang's Paths of the Soul, a docu-drama following the journey of a group of Tibetans on a pilgrimage to Lasa, the holy capital of Tibet. The journey covers 1,200 km on foot, in a continuous repetition of prostrating one's self on the ground.

Currently steaming on Kanopy is Jafar Panahi's This Is Not a Film, a clandestine documentary, shot partially on an iPhone and smuggled into France in a cake for a last-minute submission to Cannes, depicting the day-to-day life of acclaimed director Panahi during his house arrest in his Tehran apartment.
